What Are Fernco Fittings
Fernco Fittings are external couplers primarily made of tough, flexible elastomeric polyvinyl chloride (PVC). They are manufactured with chemical resistance, UV resistance, and for permanent underground installation. The flexible PVC is secured to your pipes using rust-resistant, 300 series stainless steel clamps.
They are primarily chosen when transitioning between different types of pipe, such as PVC, ABS, cast iron, copper, steel, clay, and concrete. Virtually any pipe material used in drain, waste, vent, and sewer applications. They can also be used when reducing pipe size between different types of pipes. Perfect for situations where traditional couplers can’t be used.
Fernco fittings conform to ASTM D5926, Cl 173 and CSA B602, making them an approved option in many construction, plumbing, and municipal projects.
